To start a blog on the Country Smallholding website please email the web editor, at:sally.fairbrother@archant.co.uk with your user name, email address and a name for your blog.
Once you have been accepted, a blog section will be created for you in the Smallholders' Blogs section. Only accepted blog members will be able to add posts to the blogs. However, ALL Country Smallholding forum members will be able to view the diary posts.
You should start your blog with a welcome post introducing yourself. If you wish you can remain anonymous here and use a pseudonym.
You can then add a post to your forum every time you want to add an entry to your diary. You can tell us about everyday events on your smallholding, or report progress on projects you are undertaking.
At present we only have the facility to add text to blogs automatically. However, if you are confident using HTML code and already have photos online (eg. on a personal website) you can make pictures display in your post by adding the following code to your message:
You just need to change the link in red to the absolute link to your own picture.(ie. the complete link to where the picture is stored on your website). There are lots of websites online which provide free website space where you can store photos. Please keep pictures to a maximum width of 400 pixels.
If you are less confident using HTML code, you can email photos to the web editor, at: sally.fairbrother@archant.co.uk (please include your blog name inthe email) and we will add them to your online diary!
You just need to change the link in red to link to your picture (the picture must already be uploaded to the internet, not just on your computer's hard drive)
