Well we survived lambing, had 23 lambs from 15 ewes, a lambing % of 150% not bad for shetlands of an unknown age. At the moment I'm watching the rain from the window, hoping it will stop before the weekend as I'm gassing moles this Saturday and I can't do it in the rain.
We got two new mousers from the Cat Protection League. We put them in a large shed with food, litter tray and bales of hay to sleep on. They stayed in for 3 days before tunnelling their way out aka Colditz style!!!! We are still putting food down and they are still using the shed for shelter, so at's O.K
Need to arrange the sheep shearer to call to do my larger sheep - the corridales as I find them too big to shear myself. The Shetland's are not too much trouble to shear.
Bank Holiday weekend sees the Alpaca's sheared!!!! Be glad to get the fibre off of them as I've got customers waiting for fibre.
